Y. DYER, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, STATE CAPITAL GROUP
Jocelyn Y. Dyer is the Executive Director of the State Capital Group. Prior to joining the State Capital Group, Dyer worked
as an attorney with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where she focused
her practice in corporate work and commercial litigation. She left
Gibson, Dunn to serve as the Assistant Dean, Student Affairs, at the
University of Oregon School of Law from 1996 to 1997.
Dyer received her J.D., with High Honors, from The George Washington
University National Law Center. While in law school, she was named
a Dean's Fellow, served as the Managing Editor of The George Washington
Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. She is admitted
to practice in New York, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia.
Dyer received her B.A. in Economics, with Honors, from the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Dyer currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors and Secretary for the Georgetown Ministry Center, which provides essential services and operates a successful winter shelter for the city's homeless population. She Co-Chairs the Community Services Committee and Welcome Committee for the Parents Association of Beauvoir, the National Cathedral Elementary School. Between 2006 and 2008, she chaired the Annual Giving Campaign for St. John's Episcopal Preschool. Dyer lives in Washington, DC with her husband, son and daughter.
