The Western Regional Meeting will be held October 1-2 in San Francisco, California, preceding the State Capital Group’s 2008 Annual Meeting at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins Hotel.The regional meeting will begin on Wednesday, October 1, at 2:00 p.m. with a panel discussion focusing on opportunities for firms to provide legal services to public/private partnerships. Joe Coomes of California member firm McDonough Holland & Allen PC, Jay LeMoine of British Columbia member firm Bull, Housser & Tupper LLP and Kevin Eckery, Founder and President of Eckery Associates, will share their experiences in this field and lead a discussion of potential client leads in this area.
At 6:30 pm Wednesday evening, regional meeting attendees will gather for dinner at Joe DiMaggio's Italian Chophouse, located in San Francisco's Little Italy district. The cost of the dinner (and wine) is included in the Western Region meeting registration fee. The restaurant is located one mile from the conference hotel at 601 Union Street.
On Thursday, October 2, the regional meeting will reconvene at 8:00 a.m. with a business development session that will feature "five minute" presentations by a representative from each firm on the firm's practice areas, representative clients, notable achievements, etc. The regional meeting should conclude by 10:30 a.m., which will allow plenty of time for folks to see the San Francisco sights before the Annual Meeting convenes at 3:30 p.m. that afternoon.
The cost to register for the Regional Meeting (including Wednesday night dinner) is $250 USD. The cost to attend only the Wednesday night dinner is $150 USD. HOTEL INFORMATION:
As with the Annual Meeting (immediately following the Western Regional Meeting), all meeting sessions will be held at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins Hotel. Reservations should be made directly with the InterContinental Mark Hopkins via telephone at 1-800-Nob-Hill (662-4455). Mention the State Capital Group to receive the discounted room rate of $249 USD each night (plus taxes) for a Run of House room. A credit card is required to guarantee reservations and late arrival. Hotel reservations should be made by September 3, 2008. Please note: there are a limited number of rooms available in the State Capital Group’s room block, so don’t delay!
