The State Capital Group has organized several
"Dutch-Treat" dinners at local restaurants on the evening
of Thursday, February 28. Sign-up sheets for specific restaurants
will be available at the registration desk on the morning of February
28.
Below is a list of recommended local restaurants, some of which will
serve as sites for our Dutch-Treat dinners.
Carmelo's Ristorante

Built in 1872, the "Railroad House" accommodated passengers
traveling to other railroads and four stagecoach lines. After the
International and Great Northern Railroad reached Austin in 1876,
traffic at the depot and along the Avenue was very busy. The bar of
Carmelo's, as well as all of the private rooms above, occupies the
area of the original building, recorded on the National Register as
a Texas Landmark.
