2008 U.S. MIDWINTER MEETING

HOTEL
All meeting sessions will be held at The Omni Austin Hotel Downtown,
a magnificently renovated, four-diamond hotel that surrounds you
with comfort and luxury and provides spectacular views of Austin.
With the heart of the thriving downtown business center at your
doorstep, you'll be just steps away from the Texas State Capitol
and other Austin attractions, including the lively 6th Street Entertainment
District.
Reservations should be made directly with Omni Central Reservations
by calling (800) 843-6664. Mention the State Capital Group to receive
the discounted room rate of $169/night (plus taxes). A credit card
is required to guarantee reservations and late arrival. There are
a limited number of rooms in the reserved block, so make your reservations
early and no later than Friday, January 25, 2008. After that date,
reservations will be made on a space and rate availability basis
only.
AIRLINE
American Airlines is offering State Capital Group members discounted
fares to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. To qualify, make
reservations online at www.aa.com or call (800) 433-1790 and use
Promotion Code A9928AP.
CAR RENTAL
Avis is offering State Capital Group meeting attendees special discounted
rates. Reservations can be made online at www.avis.com or by calling

DIRECTORY OF ATTENDEES
Registration must be received by Thursday, February 21, 2008 to
be listed in the official pre-registered attendee directory distributed
at the Midwinter Meeting.
DUTCH-TREAT NETWORKING DINNERS
The State Capital Group will arrange several "Dutch-Treat"
dinners at local restaurants on Thursday evening, February 28. Sign-up
sheets will be available at the Registration Desk on Thursday. For

GUEST TOUR/ACTIVITY
On Friday, February 29, the State Capital Group has organized a
special activity for spouses/guests interested in touring Austin
- by land and by sea. The narrated tour by Austin
Duck Adventures will begin at 10 a.m. and last approximately
90 minutes. It will cover Austin highlights including the State
Capitol Building, Governor's Mansion, the University of Texas campus,
music-rich Sixth Street, historic Congress Avenue and a 15-20 minute
tour on scenic Lake Austin.
The fun begins when you board the Austin Duck Adventures "Duck"
at the Omni Austin Downtown Hotel. On board the DUCK you will meet
your driver who will narrate the tour. Then you are off on an exciting
journey over land and water!! Check out the website here.
The cost of the tour is $25 USD/person; space is limited and pre-registration
is required. The tour is expected to end and return to the hotel
at 11:30 a.m. If your spouse/guest plans to attend the State Capital
Group's Friday lunch at the Omni, pre-registration and pre-payment
are required. The cost for the lunch is $45 per person.

CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS
Refunds, less a $100 administrative fee, are available provided
written notice is received by the State Capital Group by Thursday,
February 21, 2008. Refunds will not be issued after February 21.
Substitutions are permitted at any time.
