The
State Capital Group's 2004 Annual Meeting will be held September 30
through October 2, 2004 in Las Vegas, Nevada, a city known as "America's
Playground". In fact, many of the hotels located on the world-famous
Las Vegas Strip are attractions unto themselves and the Vegas skyline
includes tributes to many famous cities and locales including Paris,
Egypt, Rome, New York, Venice, and San Francisco.
The Thursday afternoon opening session will begin with welcoming remarks
from Las Vegas Mayor Oscar B. Goodman followed by a panel discussion
focusing on the expansion of gaming in the United States and Internationally.
Featured panel speakers include Thomas J. Matthews, President,
CEO and COO of International Gaming Technology (IGT); Derek Jeffrey,
CEO of the British Casino Association; James J. Murren, President,
Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of MGM MIRAGE; and William
P. Weidner, President and COO of Las Vegas Sands, Inc.
On Friday morning, meeting attendees will learn how to develop and
market an ADR practice section. Natalie J. Armstrong, President
of Golden Media, will share her proven strategies to market and promote
mediators and arbitrators. Nevada Attorney General Brian Sandoval
is the featured luncheon speaker on Friday. Practice section meetings
throughout Friday and Saturday will focus on hot legal topics in labor
and employment, intellectual property, business and commercial transactions,
environmental law, healthcare and insurance, and international law.
