ANNUAL MEETING
Optional Mountain Biking Activity
Saturday, October 2, 2004
A
MESSAGE FROM:
Cliff Webster (WA)
State Capital Group Chairman
Several of us have discussed staying in Las Vegas after the annual
meeting for a couple of days to do some mountain biking together.
I agreed to see what I could learn about an easy way to do so.
Blue Diamond Bike Outpost
is recommended by the Las Vegas Valley Bicycle Club. It is located
in the heart of Nevada's Red Rock Mountains--the most popular trail
system in the western United States. The shop is located near Las
Vegas, which means we can extend our stay at the annual meeting hotel
and drive out to the site on Saturday and Sunday to bike. Information
on Blue Diamond Bike Outpost is attached below.
If anyone is interested, please contact me. Hope to see you on a bike.

rentals and guided tours...The shop offers mountain bike rentals
and guided tours for beginner to advanced riders with the best rates
in town. And no need to load and unload bikes in rental cars because
we are at the trailhead. All rentals include helmet, water bottles.
mountain biking...We are truly at the trailhead for the most
comprehensive and popular trail system in the Western States. Park and
ride from the shop for some of the most pristine single-track trails.
With over 125 miles of interconnecting single-track that accesses Cottonwood
Valley and Black Velvet area. These trails accommodate all levels of
riders with big beautiful views of the Red Rock Canyon. And for the
hard-core, just check in with the shop staff for the difficult routes
or to hook up with the local group rides.
road biking...The shop is also the start / finishing point for
road cyclists. The Red Rock Canyon scenic ride spans a distance of 35
miles and is accessible via a smooch and cycling friendly Highway 159
that runs through the village. Again, for the hard-core roadie, there
is a 13-mile one-way scenic loop that has grueling climbs and fast winding
descents. To keep the road biking experience the best, we only offer
the top-of-the-line road bike rentals from TREK.
